{"id":2603,"date":"2022-02-01T04:17:02","date_gmt":"2022-02-01T10:17:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.teamdesk.net\/blog\/?p=2603"},"modified":"2022-02-01T04:17:04","modified_gmt":"2022-02-01T10:17:04","slug":"teamdesk-single-sign-on-okta","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.teamdesk.net\/blog\/tips-tricks\/teamdesk-single-sign-on-okta\/","title":{"rendered":"Single Sign-on with Okta and TeamDesk"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Let&#8217;s see how to enable <a href=\"https:\/\/www.teamdesk.net\/help\/14.1.5.aspx\">Single Sign-on<\/a> with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.okta.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Okta<\/a> and TeamDesk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.teamdesk.net\/blog\/whats-new\/teamdesk-single-sign-on-improvements\/\">Single Sign-on<\/a> functionality in TeamDesk is available in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.teamdesk.net\/help\/14.aspx\">Enterprise editions<\/a> running either on TeamDesk subdomains or custom domain names. In this guide we&#8217;ll be referring to our test subdomain, <em>enteprise.teamdesk.net<\/em>. While setting up, please substitute <em>enterprise.teamdesk.net<\/em> with your own domain\/subdomain name.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ready to go?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"setup-single-sign-on-in-teamdesk\">Setup single sign-on in TeamDesk<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>First, in TeamDesk navigate to My Domain | All Users | Single Sign-on, switch to Test Mode and click Update button. New section, Service Provider will appear. Save Public Key as file. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.teamdesk.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/image-6.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.teamdesk.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/image-6.png\" alt=\"TeamDesk Single Sign-on settings page\" class=\"wp-image-2597\" width=\"611\" height=\"374\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.teamdesk.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/image-6.png 1222w, https:\/\/www.teamdesk.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/image-6-300x184.png 300w, https:\/\/www.teamdesk.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/image-6-1024x627.png 1024w, https:\/\/www.teamdesk.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/image-6-768x470.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 611px) 100vw, 611px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Keep service provider settings on display, we&#8217;ll need this information later.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"setup-single-sign-on-in-okta\">Setup single sign-on in Okta<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In Okta, navigate to Admin Console, select Applications from the side bar. Then click Create App Integration, select SAML 2.0 and click Next.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On General Settings tab name the app, say, TeamDesk SSO, add a logo, click Next.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Then, copy the information from TeamDesk&#8217;s <em>Service Provider<\/em> section to the fields on <em>Configure SAML<\/em> tab.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Copy <em>Login URL<\/em> to <em>Single sign on URL<\/em> field.<\/li><li>Copy <em>Entity ID<\/em> to <em>Audience URI<\/em>.<\/li><li>Set <em>Name ID<\/em> format to <em>EmailAddress<\/em>.<\/li><li>Set <em>Application Username<\/em> to <em>Email<\/em>.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.teamdesk.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/image-9.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.teamdesk.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/image-9.png\" alt=\"Single Sign-on settings in Okta\" class=\"wp-image-2605\" width=\"749\" height=\"628\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.teamdesk.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/image-9.png 1498w, https:\/\/www.teamdesk.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/image-9-300x252.png 300w, https:\/\/www.teamdesk.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/image-9-1024x859.png 1024w, https:\/\/www.teamdesk.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/image-9-768x644.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 749px) 100vw, 749px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Now, click <em>Show Advanced Settings<\/em>. For the most part Okta-provided defaults are well balanced. Click Update button.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There is one more thing to do. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Switch back to Okta.
