{"id":2800,"date":"2022-04-15T10:32:21","date_gmt":"2022-04-15T15:32:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.teamdesk.net\/blog\/?p=2800"},"modified":"2022-08-23T10:12:37","modified_gmt":"2022-08-23T15:12:37","slug":"mixed-mode-single-sign-on","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.teamdesk.net\/blog\/whats-new\/mixed-mode-single-sign-on\/","title":{"rendered":"Mixed Mode Single Sign-on"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>To further extend <a href=\"https:\/\/www.teamdesk.net\">TeamDesk<\/a> capabilities we added an ability to use mixed mode <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Single_sign-on\">single sign-on<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What is mixed mode single sign-on for? Previously, once you enable <a href=\"https:\/\/www.teamdesk.net\/blog\/whats-new\/teamdesk-single-sign-on-improvements\/\">Single Sign-On<\/a> we forwarded <em>all<\/em> the users to your identity provider (<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Identity_provider\">IdP<\/a>) to authenticate. This way is called as <em>Forced Single Sign-on<\/em>. In contrast mixed mode allows to mark <em>some<\/em> users to login via IdP. Others will use regular TeamDesk login process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mixed mode is particularly useful in case of external users. \u0421orporate users will still be protected by your IdP they are already configured on, while external users will be freely added to TeamDesk, thus lowering the costs to support administration of the corporate environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To choose between forced and mixed mode we split former <em>Enabled<\/em> option into two: <em>Enabled for all users<\/em> for forced mode and <em>Enabled for selected users<\/em> for mixed mode.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.teamdesk.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/image-2.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.teamdesk.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/image-2.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2958\" width=\"322\" height=\"103\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.teamdesk.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/image-2.png 644w, https:\/\/www.teamdesk.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/image-2-300x96.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 322px) 100vw, 322px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>To manage who&#8217;s eligible to use IdP, we added extra SSO Login checkbox to users&#8217; settings.
