Today, we have extended <a href=\"http:\/\/www.teamdesk.net\">TeamDesk<\/a> to allow you to share similar functionality with your database users.<\/p>\n<p>Views and dashboards now have Help Text property. It is placed in a separate section below all of the other object&#8217;s properties.<\/p>\n<p>When filled in, view\/dashboard page displays small drop down titled Help just under tab bar. On user&#8217;s click it extends toward the bottom displaying the text you&#8217;ve typed. To simplify building dashboard help it supports automatic extraction of views&#8217; help texts it consists of. First, dashboard&#8217;s own text is displayed. Then it lists view&#8217;s section heading and view&#8217;s help text for each view available to the user.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-977 size-full alignnone\" title=\"Dashboard and view help text concatenated\" src=\"https:\/\/www.teamdesk.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/helpbox-expanded.png\" alt=\"Dashboard and view help text concatenated\" width=\"1151\" height=\"768\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.teamdesk.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/helpbox-expanded.png 1151w, https:\/\/www.teamdesk.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/helpbox-expanded-300x200.png 300w, https:\/\/www.teamdesk.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/helpbox-expanded-768x512.png 768w, https:\/\/www.teamdesk.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/helpbox-expanded-1024x683.png 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1151px) 100vw, 1151px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Help texts are actually markup with limited support for HTML tags and attributes. Scripts, forms, event handlers &#8211; in other words active content is prohibited; feature set here is in par with email workflow actions.<\/p>\n<p>For interface consistency, we&#8217;ve\u00a0also renamed column&#8217;s Tooltip to Help\u00a0Text and put\u00a0it &#8211; as with views and dashboards\u00a0&#8211; in a separate section at the bottom of column&#8217;s setup page. Also, chart views no longer display descriptions under the title.
