We made improvements to Manage Column Access page to make it work better with large numbers of columns and roles.
Let’s take a look at the picture.
❶ We added column- and role access setters. Selecting access mode in column- or role header updates all cells in a row / column.
❷ Quick filter allows you to hide rows and columns with identical access modes. For example, unselecting View will hide Assigned To, Costs, Days Overdue and system columns as they are View-only.
❸ We now respect read-only columns such as formulas and lookups and report their default access mode as View. Previous version of Manage Column Access page was reporting access mode as View/Modify for all roles and columns if it was not explicitly set to some other value.
❹ Access modes are color-coded for easier recognition. No Access has medium gray while View has light-blue background. Access modes modified during current editing session are highlighted with green text color.
That’s it.
