Today, we’ve released alternative setup layout for TeamDesk. You can opt-in to a new layout by visiting Setup > Labs and enabling New Setup Layout feature. So, what’s new there?
Left side bar now features Database link to manage database-wide settings, New Table button to add new table to a database and alphabetically sorted list of tables.
Search for keywords box was extended: start typing and we’ll dynamically filter table list and in-page grids. Confirm your choice by pressing search button or enter key and we’ll search for the text you’ve typed throughout the database settings.
Also when you are switching between tables, we are now trying to maintain current context: have you selected Customize Columns in one table and switch to another, we’ll switch you to a Customize Columns in another table as well.
Feel free to try and tell us what you think.
Already love the sidebar option! It’s easier on the eyes and the alphabetical list is MUCH needed. THANK YOU! I’m already thinking it’d be great if there was a way to set a “favorites” table list – ones we use most often that would supersede the alphabetical list (similar to the new category options in views). As I use the new setup layout a little more, I may have more feedback.
